DECOLONOIZE X SCHOKOLADEN: Naari Album release concert
As part of Club Culture Week, Decolonoize is collaborating with the Chocolate to bring a BIPoC perspective to DIY/punk spaces. This will be done with live concerts by up-and-coming alternative bands:
Naari (India): Their new album is a stunning display of psych, post-rock and classical Indian vocals and arrangements.
Mitsune (Japan), a shamisen-playing trio that brings traditional music to a dystopian future.
The evening begins with a panel discussion by members of Decolonoize, followed by resistance poetry by local artists.
Artist Oyemi Noize will close the evening with a curated DJ set.

The original Black roots of rock and punk have been actively obscured for decades. Although Black people invented rock'n'roll, BIPoC artists are either less known or invisible in this scene because the public is not aware and acknowledges that they are BIPoCs. To counteract this discrepancy and give a diverse community of artists the space they deserve, DECOLONOIZE, a Berlin collective of BIPoC musicians and music lovers, organises concerts and events in the old punk style: from the scene - for the scene.
